Common Uses
Amantadine belongs to a group of calcium channels blocker. It is an antiparkinson and antiviral agent. Its mechanism of action has not been studied completely, uncontrolled muscle movements caused by medicines. Amantadine is a perfect solution for high blood pressure and the chest pain of angina treatment. Usually it is prescribed for preventing and treating certain types of flu.

How to Take
Before start taking any new medicine please consult with a doctor. The starting dose for adult patients is 200 mg once a day or 100 mg two times a day. This dosage is recommended for the treatment or prevention of flu, you should take full course to get better results. Keep using Amantadine even if you feel better in a few days. This will help clear up your infection completely. The virus could also become less sensitive to this or other medicines. This could make the infection harder to treat in the future.

Warning and Precautions
Amantadine sometimes causes lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting. Please avoid operating a potentially unsafe tasks or mechanisms such as driving a car, until you know your reaction on it. The effect may be worse if you take alcohol or certain medicines such as sleep aids or muscle relaxants. Use Amantadine with caution. It may cause you to become overheated in hot weather. Overdose
Almost any medicine taking in excess doses without consultation with your doctor can cause an overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include lightheadedness or dizziness, aggression, chest pain, fast or slow heartbeat, hallucinations, severe drowsiness, headache, trouble breathing, trouble walking.If you suspect an overdose contact your emergency room immediately.

Storage
Amantadine should be stored at room temperature in a container it comes in. Protect from heat, sun light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep away from pets and children.
