Common Uses
Claritin is a new treatment in allergies. With its nons edative effects it is a best known antihistamine blocker of H1 receptors. Claritine effect runs 24 hours. The tests showed that Claritin start work after 1-3 hours and its maximum concentration in blood were detected after 8-12 hours. Usually Claritin is used in treatment allergic rhinitis and skin diseases of allergic origin. 

How to Take
Claritin is taken by mouth with or without food. Usually in the morning before meal. For Adults and Children over 6 years recommended dose is 10 mg daily. For Children 2 to 5 years of age the dose will be 5 mg once a day. For other ages or people with chronic diseases consulted with your doctor before start taking Cetirizine.

Importent
Please take in mind that the total effect of Claritin during pregnancy has not been totally studied. If you are pregnant or going to become, you should inform your doctor immediately. Claritin appears in breast milk. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding until your treatment with Claritin is finished. Or recommend other ways in allergy treatment which is not so harmful for baby.

Missed Dose
If your doctor gave you strict instructions not to miss dose and if you missed one take the missed dose as soon as you remembered. If it is time for your next dose, skip it and continue taking you medicine regularly. Do not double the medicine. It can cause severe side effects.

Overdose
If you take too much of Claritin visit your doctor immediately. If your condition gets worse seek medical attention, local or regional hospital center. Overdose can be accompanied such symptoms as: irregular heartbeat; severe drowsiness or headache.

Storage
Store Claritin at tightly closed container it comes with, at room temperature (25 degrees C). Keep away from pets and children. Do not store in bathroom, protect from heat and sunlight.

Possible Side Effects
Any of the medicine can cause side effects. If the side effects occur seek medical attention or consult with your doctor for more information. Anyway such common side effects may bother you: hypotension, extra pyramidal effects, dizziness, confusion, depression, sleep disturbances, tremor, convulsions.
Seek medical attention if any of these side effects occur: convulsions, palpitation, arrhythmias, hypersensitivity reactions, blood disorders, liver dysfunction, and angle-closure glaucoma.
